I connected the cable on port Fastethernet1/0 and other end to my laptop assigned the laptop static IP 10.1.10.253 to talk to switch but I couldn't get connection to switch. Save it to NVRAM and rebooted the switch. I used the console to do all the settings. When I first turn on this switch, I got boot menu to do some password settings and switch settings. I have purchased another Catalyst 2950 refurbised and like to connect replace with Linksys. I am replacing my old 8 port Linksys switch that is uplink with Catalyst 2950 switch via Giga port.
